1800 series Two - Professional Power Station Thierry Martin

This is the next generation of the Bose 1800 workhorse appearing on this page. It has a completely different architecture and design, and active cooling by the means of a silent two speeds fan has replaced the huge fins surrounding his ancestor. The chassis is very neat. Delayed power on, overheat protection and outputs DC detection are protecting the speakers, Bose apparently took into account the fact that earlier 1800 series took many speakers away with them when someting went wrong on aboard. The input buffer is built around a NE5534, maybe worth trying something else although sound is really good, transparent and powerful, especially in the bass area. Balanced (Neutrik XLRs) and unbalanced inputs (on phone jacks). Rear panel mentions a power consumption of 10A under 220V at full throttle, in other terms 2200VA.
