6 channel volume control

This fine audio device has a story : at first I bought a kit based on "digital" voulme control (actually resitors ladder type LM1973) from an Australian manufacturer but I wasn't really satisfied with it's ergonomy and design. I asked Selectronic to think about a similar setup keeping in mind an audiophile everyday use.

A few week later I received a prototype that I immediately wanted to keep in my system as it was exactly doing what it was meant for : a totally transparent and remote operated 6 channel voulme control. It was decided to offer it either as an easy to assemble kit for DIYers or a ready to use device.

Here are it's main specifications : J-FET transistors are used throughout input and output buffers, ensuring impressive audio transparency uses an ALPS motorized potentiometer individually adjustable gain on each channel to compensate amplifiers gain differences between channels (internal +/- 3dB trimmers) SCHAFFNER mains power transformers Vishay Low ESR capacitors heavy copper double-sided printed circuit board remote controlled (RC included)

I have included some pictures to let you see how nicely this thing is done. The kit can be bought from Selectronic, the reference to order it is 70.43-4US . More information here
